Maintenance Supervisor - Solutia, Anniston

Job Description
This position is responsible for planning and executing maintenance work for a production unit at a chemical facility.

Major Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor the efficient, effective, and safe delivery of all maintenance services supporting the Therminol and Skydrol operations at the Anniston Site, through the following activities:.
Supervision of wage maintenance technicians at the Anniston Plant
Field supervision of maintenance and construction contractors
Coordination of certain facility service contracts for maintenance of grounds, buildings and other support services provided for the Anniston Plant
Works closely with the Operations Departments to effectively deliver services in support of manufacturing operations

Responsible for supervision of the Anniston Plant Maintenance bargaining unit employees including:
Making work assignments to the plant technicians, supervising and evaluating that work, approving maintenance time, and handling personnel issues including conflict resolution, grievances, and discipline.
Provides mechanical, electrical and systems support for technicians.
Act as Shutdown leader for plant outages.
Managing the maintenance backlog (safety, environmental, routine, project, shutdown, PM, PD, OSHA, and ISO/QS calibrations).
Leading the maintenance reliability processes for the Anniston Plant and coordinating the implementation of new maintenance reliability processes to meet KPI's and measures of performance.
Coordinate outside maintenance and construction contractors. Assist in determining the use of outside contractors vs. internal resources.
Assist in developing the annual maintenance budget for the department and manage monthly cost to meet the annual budget.
Maintain department safety program to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Establish and maintain training requirements for maintenance department personnel. Develop and improve maintenance procedures.
Develop, maintain and improve maintenance procedures.
Required Skills
Knowledge of PLC's and a background in electrical trouble shooting is a plus.
Good interpersonal and people management skills including team building, coaching, communication, conflict resolution.
Familiarity or experience in union environment and labor relations is a plus.
Knowledge of maintenance best practices.
Knowledge of functional use of SAP computerized maintenance system a plus.
Knowledge of hardware/software computer systems
Good planning and analytical skills.
Technical and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of process implementation and change management.
Required Experience
BS in Engineering preferred, or equivalent education or experience.
Minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience required
Working knowledge of tools and manufacturing equipment specifications.
